Metal vs. Paper - Pros and Cons?
- - - Metal Prints
Pros:
1. Vibrant colors and sharp details due to the dye sublimation process.
2. Durable, waterproof, scratch-resistant, and easy to clean.
3. Modern, sleek appearance suitable for contemporary spaces.

Cons:
1. Higher cost compared to paper prints.
2. Limited framing options; metal edges may not suit all décor styles.
3. Glossy finish can produce glare in certain lighting.

- - - Paper Prints
Pros:
1. Affordable and accessible, with a wide range of sizes and finishes.
2. Versatile for framing and mounting, adapting to various styles.
3. Archival-quality papers can last decades with proper care.

Cons:
1. Susceptible to damage from water, UV light, and physical handling.
2. Colors may fade over time without archival-quality materials or UV-resistant glass.
3. Requires matting, framing, or lamination for optimal presentation and protection.
For more information on print paper surface types, see the "Print Paper Surface Types - Which One Should I Choose?" FAQ section.

Can I see a preview of how my selected print will look with different mats and frames?
- - - Yes, you will be able to see what the image will look like with your selected print format during the purchasing process.

Why does the image I selected get "cut off" at the edges when I select different print sizes?
- - - During our initial editing, prior to uploading images to the website, we crop (resize) them to achieve a desired composition. Some available print sizes may not display the image as we originally composed it. During the selection/purchasing process, you can select different print sizes to see if a particular one fits your desired composition. After that, you can use the "Crop/Edit" feature (located just below the image) to make adjustments to fit a desired print size and orientation (landscape (horizontal) or portrait (vertical)).

Can I have an image printed to a size that is NOT offered?
- - - If you need the image print size to be one other than what's offered above (to fit a certain frame size, for example), contact us and we can collaborate on options. If you feel you don't need a consultation, you can always purchase the digital image, download it, and crop it yourself prior to you printing it.

Will the ReFind Images watermark / logo appear on the print(s) that I order?
- - - No, it will not appear on any image you purchase for direct download or printing. It is there only to prevent unauthorized copying / usage.
Print Paper Surface Types - Which One Should I Choose?
Photographic paper choice can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. Below is a simplified guide to help you choose the best paper surface for your prints. All options are archival, ensuring durability and vibrant colors over time when stored or displayed in moderate conditions.

Lustre

Best for: Sharp images, natural skin tones, and text-heavy designs like photo cards and calendars.
Lustre paper has a subtle pebble texture with a semi-gloss finish, offering sharp detail and slightly richer colors than matte. It’s especially loved by wedding and portrait photographers for its ability to showcase natural-looking skin tones beautifully.

Glossy (not available for Framed Prints)

Best for: Bold, vibrant colors and rich contrast where glare isn’t a concern.
Glossy paper offers a shiny, reflective surface that deepens dark tones and makes colors pop. This classic paper is ideal for everyday photography, reminiscent of cherished family snapshots stored in albums.

Metallic

Best for: High-contrast, eye-catching images with a unique glow.
Metallic paper has a glossy finish and silvery sheen, creating striking visual depth. It’s perfect for images that benefit from a bold, shimmering effect but doesn’t render pure white.
For more information, see "Metal vs. Paper - Pros and Cons" in the Prints | Matting | Framing FAQ section.

Matte (not available for Framed Prints)

Best for: All-around use with vibrant colors and minimal sheen.
Matte paper provides a smooth, professional finish with low reflectivity, making it versatile for various types of photography. It balances color accuracy and exceptional image stability

Silk (not available for Framed Prints)

Best for: Nostalgic, vintage-style images with a fabric-like texture.
Silk paper features a semi-gloss finish with a linen-like texture, giving photos a classic and elegant feel. It’s a popular choice for wedding, portrait, and school photography.

Deep Matte Velvet

Best for: Display prints in reflective lighting conditions.
Deep Matte Velvet has a non-reflective, velvety surface that resists fingerprints. It delivers rich blacks and vivid colors, making it ideal for display prints, even in rooms with multiple light sources.

Pearl

Best for: Display prints, competitions, and astrophotography.
Fuji Pearl paper offers a glossy surface with sharp details, intense colors, and a distinctive pearl-like shimmer. Its expanded color range and warm tones make it a favorite for showcasing dramatic and vibrant images.
